Feng Du obtained his phd degree from Zhejiang University at 2022, after that he went to do postdoctoral research at Max Planck Institute for Chemistry till now, working together with Prof. Mikhail Eremets. His research interest mainly focus on high pressure physics in correlated electron systems and superconductors.
讲座摘要
Hydrogen-rich superconductors are well known for their unprecedented high critical temperatures. While most studies of these superconductors have focused on their macroscopic superconducting properties, microscopic insights into the pairing mechanism remain unclear due to experimental challenges. Here I report on the development of the electron tunneling technique at megabar pressures and its application to H3S and D3S to measure the superconducting gap. The fully gapped structure as well as the isotope effect in these compounds provide direct experimental evidence for superconductivity from a microscopic perspective and validate the phonon-mediated mechanism of superconducting pairing.
