嘉宾简介

Mark A. Green earned his PhD in Chemistry from the Royal Institution of Great Britain and University College London in 1995, under the supervision of Professor Peter Day. Since 2013, he has been a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and has received the Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award. Professor Green has published extensively across a broad range of materials in high-impact journals, with over 70 papers in Science, Nature Materials, Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, JACS, Angewandte Chemie, Physical Review(s), Physical Review Letters, Chemistry of Materials, and Chemical Science.

讲座摘要

This talk focuses on designing new materials for energy and electronic applications. The chemical synthetic component develops strategies to manipulate material post-synthesis to produce new materials with enhanced performance. The characterisation heavily uses neutron and synchrotron radiation to reveal the detailed and complex mechanisms underpinning the materials’ performance. Examples that will be discussed include iron based superconductors, porous materials, photovoltaic perovskites, frustrated and quantum magnets.
